Command Manual – STP
Quidway S8500 Series Routing Switches
Description
Use the stp port priority command to configure the priority of a port on a specified
MSTI.
Use the undo stp port priority command to restore the default priority of the port on
the specified MSTI.
You may specify the instance-id parameter as 0 to configure CIST priority of the port.
The port priority has effect on the port role selection. A port can be configured with
different priorities on different MSTIs. Thus the traffic from different VLANs can run over
different physical links, thereby implementing the VLAN-based load-balancing. MSTP
will recalculate the port role and transit its state, upon the port priority changes.
If you execute these commands without using the instance instance-id option, your
configuration takes effect only on the CIST instance.
Related command: stp interface port priority.
Example
# Set the priority of Ethernet2/1/3 on MSTI 2 to 16.
<Quidway> system-view
System View: return to User View with Ctrl+Z.
[Quidway] interface Ethernet2/1/3
[Quidway-Ethernet2/1/3] stp instance 2 port priority 16
