7.3.1.9 Solvent Saving Mode

With the <Solvent Saving Mode> function activated the nozzle will be closed after a time
interval set without a PrintGo (PG) signal received.
The tab <Solvent Saving Mode> (2) provides the input field (3) for the setting of the time
interval. The interval is set by minutes and the maximum is 999 minutes.
As long as the interval is set to 0 the <Solvent Saving Mode> function is off.
Through the open nozzle air can get into the hydraulic system and this will cause a
higher solvent consumption. Therefore the nozzle should only be opened during printing.
It is recommended to close the nozzle during times without printing. The <Solvent
Saving Mode> makes sure that the nozzle will be closed if there are no PrintGo signals
received for a certain time.
With the LEIBINGER Sealtronic the circulation of the ink will continue as long as the
printer is not in stand-by mode even if the nozzle is closed. Therefore a print start with a
nozzle closed will only take the seconds to open the nozzle.
Information
The LEIBINGER Sealtronic nozzle-seal technology prevents the clogging of
ink not only in the nozzle itself but also in the return line. Due to this it provides
an instant start-up of the printer, even after long shutdowns.
How is the nozzle sealed:
In order to close the nozzle the gutter tube will move towards the O-ring of the
nozzle and seal it airtight. The result is a hermetically sealed ink circulation.
No air can penetrate into the nozzle and return line and therefore clogging of
ink is definitely eliminated. A time consuming manual or automatically
operated nozzle cleaning process is not necessary.
There are different ways for closing the nozzle:
1. Manually by using the respective buttons of the main window. Please
2. Automatically by the operating system when the printer is shut down.
3. Automatically by using the <Solvent Saving Mode> function.
4. Manually by special functions within the service menu. Only for service
Proceeding:
1. From the <Basic settings> dialog box (1): select the <Solvent Saving Mode> (2)
tab.
2. Enter the time interval using either the spin buttons or the numeric keypad which pops
up by clicking in the iput field (3).
The default setting is 0. With this setting the <Solvent Saving Mode> function is off.
There are inputs between 1 minute and 999 minutes allowed.
