It is only through the use of inks and solvents from Paul Leibinger GmbH & Co. KG that optimum operating characteristics can be achieved.
At this point we wish to make explicit reference to the fact that it is only when using solvent and ink from Paul Leibinger GmbH & Co. KG that the optimum operating characteristics can be achieved.
Page 8 2 Safety 2.1 Scope of risks The high performance industrial printer of the High Speed Line series has been built in accordance with state-of-the-art standards and recognized safety requirements and has been equipped with protective devices. The InkJet-printer works with flammable liquids which are ink and solvent. At incorrect usage or misuse may result in danger of health of the operator or further people, as well as property damages.
The electrical and electronic components of the high performance printer are under voltage. The device must only be opened by trained personnel or by Leibinger service technicians. Prior to the opening of the device, the device must be switched off and the mains plug removed.

Basics about the functionality of the printhead ventilation The print head of the JET Rapid Wire (PI) and Speed Plus printer has to be mounted at a distance between nearly zero und 5 mm to the substrate. This close installation provides the shortest trajectories for ink droplets.

217mm Recommended:15 mm The JET Rapid works with the same print modes as the JET3up. Due to the higher operating speeds, the recommended distance between print head and substrate is 15 mm. Shorter distances bear the risk of contaminating the print head Larger distances may have a negative effect on the quality of the printouts.
Page 20
The JET Rapid with the Option SPEED PLUS comes with the same print head technology as the JET Rapid Wire but he is only available with the beveled head cover which provides single line printouts up to a speed of 800 m/min It was designed for high-speed applications and substrates that are not suitable for the JET Rapid Wire with its stepped head cover.

4 Available inks (All types of the High Speed series) For technical reason it is not possible to use the full range of LEIBINGER inks for high-speed printing. The selection of the available inks depends on the used RAPID type and the nozzle size.
Attention Due to the higher printing speed of the JET RAPID printers, the number of printouts per time unit may be much higher than with the JET3up. Therefore, it is necessary to check the gutter tube for ink staining on a regular basis.

To guarantee the desired print quality always, it is important to adjust the correct distance between the printhead and the product. Depending on the printer: JET Rapid, JET Rapid with the option Speed Plus or JET Rapid Wire (PI) the printhead distance is 0, 5 or 15 mm.
If, for instance, a print job for the JET3up with a 32 dot high quality font allows a printing speed of 30 meter/minute, it will be possible to print the same job with the JET Rapid at a speed of around 40 m/min.
Page 31
Which means that the JET Rapid with the option Speed Plus may be operated at the same speed as the JET Rapid Wire (PI) but the quality of the print outs are not expected to be as good as well.
Page 32
JET Rapid Wire / Wire PI: Stepped headcover The JET Rapid Wire (PI) comes with a special print head that allows a nearly zero distance between print head and substrate. This makes it possible to work at the highest speeds.

The print samples show that the JET Rapid provides the same print quality as the JET3up but at a 30% higher production speed. The print outs of the JET Rapid are a shade lighter than the print outs of the JET3up. However, a quality check of the 2-D code shows that the code has the highest readability level.
