End of Table 6.5.1
Malfunction, evidence, reason
There is no free travel of the pedals (there
is no clearance between the piston and
plunger of the main cylinder piston)
The main brake cylinders pistons are
seized (do not return into initial posi-
tion) due to the cups and sealing rings
swelling, which leads to compensation
openings closing because the brake
fluid of improper brand is used or the
brake fluid is contaminated by mineral
oil, benzene, kerosene, diesel fuel.
The service brake cylinders pistons
are seized because of cups swell-
ing.
Compensating opening A (Figure
6.5.1) is clogged in the main cylin-
der.
Retracting springs of the pressure
disks are slacked or damaged.
Signs of wear are present on working
surfaces of the pressure disks.
Pits are present on working surfaces
of the pressure disks.
The service brakes are adjusted incorrectly.
Unsatisfactory operation of the main
brake cylinders balancing valves.
Clogging or deformation of brake con-
trol pipelines in one of circuits or pipe-
line of balancing valves in the main
brake cylinders.
Friction brake disks are worn.
1 – housing; 2 – shut-off valve; 3 – balancing valve; 4 – cup; 5 – plunger; 6 – piston; А –
compensating opening.
Brakes are not released
Adjust the pedals free travel.
Carefully wash whole hydraulic actuator system by
brake fluid. Replace damaged cups and sealing rings
in the main brake cylinders. Replace the brake fluid,
and then pump the hydraulic system by brake fluid.
Carefully wash whole hydraulic actuator system by
brake fluid. Replace damaged cups in the service brake
cylinders. Replace the brake fluid, and then pump the
hydraulic system by brake fluid.
Clean the compensating opening in the main cylinder
and pump the hydraulic system by brake fluid.
Replace the retracting springs of the pressure disks.
Smooth out the working surfaces of the pressure
disks.
Replace pressure disks.
The left and right wheels are braking irregularly
Adjust.
Remove the tube, which interconnects the two main
brake cylinders, then unscrew fittings and remove bal-
ancing valves. Replace worn parts. Pump the hydraulic
system by brake fluid.
Clean or replace pipelines. Pump the hydraulic sys-
tem by brake fluid.
Replace friction disks.
