2.15.3 Gear Changing in the Transmission with the Synchromesh GB and
Synchromesh Increasing Gearbox.
Controls of the synchromesh GB with the synchromesh increasing gearbox are shown
in Figure 2.15.4 .
Gears are changed by two levers: GB ranges and gears changing lever 3 (Figure 2.15.4) and
increasing gearbox control lever 2.
Select required ranges, gears and stages of the increasing gearbox (slow-down stage – "tur-
tle" symbol, accelerating stage – "rabbit" symbol) according to the changing diagrams 4 and 1 as
shown in Figure 2.15.4.
Change ranges and gears by the single lever 3, at that, activate the range (I or II) first,
then move the lever into position N and select required gear.
The increasing gearbox control lever 2 shall be in activated (fixed) position during the tractor
operation: reverse – slow-down stage (turtle) or forward – accelerating stage (rabbit). It is allowable
to keep the lever of the increasing gearbox in the neutral (not fixed middle position) position in order
to make the engine starting easier at low temperatures.
