5.4.4 General Maintenance

5.4.4.1 General directions
As far as necessary (i.e. corresponding to pressure or clogging sensors readings)
perform maintenance operations, which are specified in this subsection 5.4.4.
5.4.4.2 Operation 70. Adjusting the oil pressure in the engine lubrication system
Constantly monitor the oil pressure value in the engine lubrication system using the
indicator 9 shown Figure 2.6.1, which is located on the instruments panel (when the en-
gine operates at the nominal RPM and cooling fluid temperature 85...95  С, the oil pressure
shall be within 0.25...0.35 MPa, pressure value in the cold engine might be up to 0.6 MPa).
If the lubrication system is in good working order (oil pipelines connections are air-
tight, safety valve in the oil filter operates correctly etc.), but when the engine operates at
nominal RPM with normal operating CF temperature, the lubricant pressure constantly ex-
ceeds value 0.35 MPa or is constantly below value 0.25 MPa, then it is necessary to adjust
oil pressure in the engine lubrication system.
To adjust the oil pressure in the engine lubrication system, proceed as follows:
- unscrew the plug 3 (Figure 5.4.25), remove sealant 4;
- use the screwdriver 6 to rotate the adjusting plug 5 (installed in the oil filter body
groove 2) by single revolution into direction of pressure value increase or decrease (de-
pending on actual pressure);
- install the sealing 4 and screw in the plug 3;
- if necessary repeat the adjustment operations listed above.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO ADJUST OIL PRESSURE IN THE LUBRICATION SYSTEM
WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.
