Malfunction,

Conical pivots of the HPS or steer-
ing link hydraulic cylinder are not
tightened.
There is free play in the steering
link joints.
Worn shank splines of the steering
column.
Cardan shaft of the steering col-
umn is worn.
The springs for returning the me-
tering pump spool into neutral po-
sition have lost flexibility.
Insufficient pressure in the HPS
hydraulic system because of fol-
lowing reasons:
- incorrect setting of the metering
pump safety valve (low pressure).
- faulty feeding pump.
Increased torque to rotate the
FDA reduction gears.
Unequal minimum turn radius for the tractor turning to the left and right
The front wheels toe-in is not ad-
justed.
High pressure in the HPS hydrau-
lic system because of seizure of the
metering pump safety valve in
closed position (possibly because of
fouling).

Considering the metering pump extreme complexity and importance in view of the steer-
ing control safety, this pump shall be disassembled and assembled only by the manufac-
turer's service department specialist (or another authorised service provider), who has re-
ceived corresponding training, familiar with the metering pump design and with documen-
tation for the metering pump servicing, disassembling and assembling. These operations
shall be performed only if available all required appliances, tools and special hydraulic
stand, which provides for adjustment and inspection of the metering pump parameters and
operation after performing repairs. Otherwise, full responsibility for the metering pump in-
operability is placed onto the person, who assembled and disassembled the metering
pump, replaced parts or adjusted valves. This responsibility is also placed onto the tractor
owner.
Increased free play in the steering wheel
Tighten nuts with torque from 180 to 200 N·m and in-
stall cotter pins.
Remove free play in the steering link joints according to
section 5 "Maintenance"
Replace the lower fork of cardan.
Replace the cardan shaft.
Contact the dealer. The service provider shall replace
springs, assemble and check operation according to the
manufacturer manual
Incomplete turning angle of the steerable wheels
Contact the dealer. It is necessary to adjust the safety
valve to required pressure
Contact the dealer.
Repair the FDA.
Adjust the front wheels toe-in according to section 5
"Maintenance".
Faulty feeding pump
Contact the dealer. It is necessary to wash the metering
pump parts. The service provider shall assemble and ad-
just the safety valve to the required pressure and check
operation according to the manufacturer manual
