During the engine operation while it is at storage between shifts, short-term and long-
term storage, the tractor operating enterprise shall provide for means and methods of preser-
vation and storage conditions according to GOST 7751-2009. Inner surfaces shall be also pre-
served by the multi-purpose preservation lubricant KS-U according to TU RB 600125053.019-
2004. While storing on open sites it is necessary to preserve uncovered surfaces by lubricant
BELA-KOR of type A according to TU RB 600125053-020-2004. It is allowed to use other
preservation lubricants after receiving approval from MTZ.

7.6 Depreservation and Represervation

The depreservation method shall be selected depending on used preservation materi-
als. Preserved surfaces shall be wiped by cloth moistened by low-viscosity oils, thinners or
wash by water-soluble solutions. Remove insulating materials (film, paper) from air-tightened
units. Preserved inner surfaces do not require depreservation.
The tractor shall be represerved in case of preservation defects discovery during stor-
age or when preservation duration has expired.

7.7 Preparing the Tractor for Operation after Long-Term Storage

Depreserve the engine according to the engine operation manual.
Remove lubricant from external preserved surfaces. Remove installed protective poly-
ethylene jackets, covers, plugs, special appliances and install previously removed parts. Prior
to installing, clean parts from lubricant and dust. Drain sediments from all vessels, fill by work
fluids and if necessary add them up to reference level.
Lubricate all tractor mechanisms according to item 3 in Table 5.8.1 of this manual. Per-
form scheduled maintenance. Run in the tractor for 15 to 20 minutes. Remedy discovered mal-
functions.

7.8 Safety Requirements for Preservation

Only persons older than 18 years, who were medically examined, received initial in-
struction on safety and fire prevention, initial workplace instruction, shall be allowed to perform
processes of preservation, which include surface preparation, preservation materials applica-
tion, paper and packaging marking and cutting. Premises and sites where preservation opera-
tions are performed, shall be separated from other production premises and shall be equipped
with supply and exhaust ventilation. Implemented preservation materials are inflammable sub-
stances with flash point from 170 to 270 С, which shall correspond to the state standards,
technical specifications and shall have certificate of quality.
Delivered preservation materials shall be marked with the material name. Perform
preservation operations while wearing work clothes and shoes, and it is mandatory to use per-
sonal protection equipment. While performing preservation operations it is necessary to ob-
serve personal hygiene rules, timely turn work clothes for cleaning, do not wash it in emulsion,
solvents, kerosene. Preservation materials according to their extent of exposure onto human
body belong to moderately hazardous class. Therefore, use recommended personal protection
equipment while working with such materials.
Hand skin can be affected in case of prolonged exposure to preservation oils, lubricants
and fluids. White spirit vapours in small concentrations act as soft drug and in high concentra-
tions can lead to intoxication. Anti-corrosion paper contains the corrosion inhibitors, which in-
duce irritation and inflammatory conditions of skin and mucous membranes of nose and eyes.
Prior to work put on the cotton robe or work clothes, apron and prepare the personal protection
equipment according to work conditions and toxicity of used materials. Lubricate hands by pro-
tective paste (cream) or put on cotton and rubber gloves. Prior to performing works with un-
known safe work conditions, it is necessary to demand for safety instructions.
8. TRACTOR TRANSPORTATION AND TOWING
8.1 Tractor transportation
Tractors are transported by railroad, motor vehicles or under its own power.
Engage the parking brake and the first gear of the gearbox for tractor transportation;
Fasten BELARUS-921.6 tractor to the rail platform with four sling ropes.
