2.5 Air-conditioning Unit Control

2.5.1 Air-conditioning Unit Control in the Air-Conditioning Mode

Switches 1 and 2 are installed on the air-conditioned control panel (Figure 2.5.1).
1 – airflow rate adjustment switch; 2 – air-conditioned switch and cooling capacity
adjustment.
Use the switch 1 to change an airflow rate by the fan rotation speed adjustment.
Use the switch 2 to change the temperature of a cooled and dried air, which is fed from the
deflectors 1 (Figure 2.4.1) in the air-conditioning mode.
ATTENTION: THE AIR-CONDITIONING UNIT CAN BE ACTIVATED AND OPER-
ATE ONLY WHEN THE ENGINE OPERATES!
To start the air-conditioning unit, proceed as follows:
- rotate the switch 2 (Figure 2.5.1) clock-wise by ≈180° up to the point, where the
blue dial starts;
- then rotate the switch 1 into one of the three marked positions (the fan's rotor has
three rotation speeds). After 3-5 minutes, use the switch 2 to adjust the required tempera-
ture in the cab;
- the recirculation flaps 8 (Figure 2.4.1) can be used to adjust mixing the environ-
ment air with the recirculated air.
To turn the air-conditioner off, rotate both switches 1 and 2 (Figure 2.5.1) counter-
clockwise into the position 0.
ATTENTION:PRIOR TO THE ENGINE STOPPING, MAKE SURE THAT THE AIR-
CONDITIONER IS OFF!
ATTENTION: THE HEATER VALVE SHALL BE CLOSED WHILE OPERATING IN
THE COOLING MODE IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION
OF THE AIR HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEMS!

2.5.2 Air-conditioning Unit Control in the Heating Mode

ATTENTION: THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM SHALL BE FILLED ONLY WITH
THE LOW-FREEZING LIQUID, WHICH IS STATED IN SUBSECTION 6.7 "THE TRAC-
TOR FILLING AND LUBRICATION WITH THE FUEL AND LUBRICANTS"!
To operate the air-conditioner in the heating mode, proceed as follows:
- start the engine and with the heater valve closed let the engine run at the interme-
diate rotation speed in order to warm the cooling fluid in the cooling system up to the tem-
perature within range from 70 °С to 80 °С;
- then open the heater valve using the handle 2 (Figure 2.4.1), for this purpose it is
necessary to rotate the handle 2 counter-clockwise up to the stop;
