2.16 Front Driving Axle Drive Control

The FDA drive control handle 2 (Figure 2.16.1) has three fixed positions:
- "FDA is OFF" – uppermost (rear) position. Use this position for transportation
works while moving on roads with hard pavement;
- "FDA is activated and deactivated automatically" – middle position. The FDA au-
tomatically activates and deactivates in this mode by the free-wheel clutch depending on
the rear wheels slipping. Use this mode while performing the fieldwork.
- "FDA is forced ON" – lowermost (front) position. Use this mode only when the rear
wheels are constantly slipping and while reverse movement, when it is necessary to acti-
vate FDA.
Place the FDA drive into positions "FDA is activated and deactivated automatically"
and "FDA is forced ON" while starting the tractor movement from a standstill.
Move the FDA drive from positions "FDA is activated and deactivated automatically"
and "FDA is forced ON" into position "FDA is OFF" while starting the tractor movement
from a standstill with depressed clutch pedal. If the FDA drive deactivation is difficult dur-
ing such operation, do not apply excessive force on the control handle and instead perform
following actions:
- press the clutch pedal;
- change to gear for movement in reverse direction in reference to the working direction
(i.e. if forward movement gear was selected, change to the reverse movement gear and vice
versa);
- smoothly release the clutch pedal and when movement starts, slide the control
handle into position "FDA is OFF".

ATTENTION: WHILE OPERATING ON ROADS WITH HARD PAVEMENT, IT IS
NECESSARY TO DEACTIVATE THE FDA DRIVE, SO THE FRONT WHEELS TYRES
WOULD NOT BE EXCESSIVELY WORN!
IT IS PROHIBITED TO OPERATE THE TRACTOR WITH ACTIVATED FDA DRIVE
AT MOVEMENT SPEED ABOVE 13 KM/H.
ATTENTION: VIOLATION OF THE FDA DRIVE CONTROL MODES CAN LEAD TO
THE FDA PARTS AND TRANSPOSSION PARTS FAILURE!
