4.7 The Trailer Brakes Actuator

4.7.1 General

The BELARUS-921.6 tractor in basic configuration is equipped with the two-line pneu-
matic actuator of the trailer brakes.
Your tractor optionally can be equipped with single-line pneumatic actuator of the trailer
brakes or with combined pneumatic actuator of the trailer brakes. Short description of the single-line,
two-line and combined pneumatic actuator of the trailer brakes structure are specified in subsections
4.7.2, 4.7.3, 4.7.4 correspondingly.
ATTENTION: ADJUST THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND BRAKE ACTUATOR OF THE AG-
RICULTURAL MACHINE HITCHED TO THE TRACTOR AND REMEDY THEIR FAULTS ON-
LY WHEN THE ENGINE IS STOPPED AND THE TRACTOR IS IN HORIZONTAL POSITION
WITH WHEEL CHOKES PLACED UNDER WHEELS, WHICH PREVENT SPONTANEOUS
MOVEMENT OF THE TRACTOR!

4.7.2 Single-line Actuator of the Trailer Brakes

The single-line pneumatic actuator provides for the trailers and agricultural machines
brakes control, which are equipped with the single-line pneumatic actuator of the brakes. The
pneumatic actuator is also used for the tyres inflation and other purposes, where the com-
pressed air energy is required. Diagram of the single-line pneumatic actuator is shown in Fig-
ure 4.7.1.
The pneumatic actuator is equipped with the valve-type coupling head 9 (Figure 4.7.1).
The coupling head valve prevents air escaping when the pneumatic actuator is used without
the trailer (for example during tyres inflation) and in case of emergency trailer decoupling.
When the trailer brake pipeline is connected to the tractor connecting pipeline, the coupling
head valve opens and provides for compressed air passage from the tractor pneumatic actua-
tor to the trailer. Meanwhile, the pneumatic pipelines shall be connected when there is no
pressure in the tractor cylinder 3.
ATTENTION: APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE PRIOR TO CONNECTING OR DISCON-
NECTING THE PNEUMATIC PIPELINES OF THE TRACTOR AND HITCHED AGRICULTURAL
MACHINE! THE TRACTOR AND AGRICULTURAL MACHINE PNEUMATIC PIPELINES SHALL
BE CONNECTED WHEN THERE IS NO PRESSURE IN THE TRACTOR PNEUMATIC SYS-
TEM!
