5 Maintenance

5.1 General

Maintenance (MT) is required for keeping the tractor in good working condition dur-
ing operation. Non-observing of established periodicity and low quality of MT will greatly
decrease the tractor service life, lead to increase in malfunctions number, the engine pow-
er dropping and increase of the tractor operation expenses. Operator must daily inspect
the tractor and prevent fastening connections loosening, fuel, fluid and oil leakages, dirt
and other sediments build-up, which can cause operation troubles, fire and accidents.
Maintenance work performance remarks shall be recorded in the tractor service log.
Observe the waste storage and recycling rules. Never drain used fluids into soil.
Use special vessels for safe waste storage.
WARNING: WHILE PERFORMING THE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OPERA-
TIONS ALWAYS OBSERVE SAFETY RULES SPECIFIED IN SUBSECTION 5.6 "SAFE-
TY MEASURES DURING MT AND REPAIRS"!
ATTENTION:IF THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS, STOP THE ENGINE
AND APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE PRIOR TO PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE,
ADJUSTMENT ETC. IF GUARDS AND CASINGS WERE REMOVED, PRIOR TO WORK-
ING ON THE TRACTOR MAKE SURE THAT AFTER MAINTENANCE THEY WERE RE-
TURNED BACK TO THEIR LOCATIONS!
Strictly observe the oil and filters replacement periodicity during the tractor mounted
device, steering control, transmission and engine hydraulic systems maintenance. It is
prohibited to use oils for filling (topping up), which are not specified in the tractor operation
manual recommendations.
Clean the filler plugs, fill becks, filter covers and surrounding surfaces from dirt and
dust prior to filling, replacement or cleaning the filtering elements. While replacing the filter-
ing elements, use diesel fuel to wash inner surfaces of filters and covers housings.
While hitching the tractor to the hydraulically assisted agricultural machines, it is
necessary to clean thoroughly from dirt the couplings, fittings, adapters and other connect-
ing elements of the agricultural machine and tractor.
If the hydraulic mounted system operates with the hydraulically assisted agricultural
machines, which are filled with oil of unknown origin, then replace oil in the agricultural
machine by the oil, with which the tractor hydraulic mounted system is filled.
Cleanliness of the hydraulic system oil will guarantee its trouble free operation.
Types of scheduled maintenance are specified in Table 5.1.1.
