Start the engine. Let the engine run at idle speed for five minutes and gradually in-
crease rotation speed up to 1600 RPM, then perform running in under load for 30 hours of
the tractor operation.
While performing the 30-hours running in, comply with following instructions:
- constantly monitor instruments readings, lubrication, cooling and power supply
systems operation. Check oil and fluid levels in refilled vessels;
- check tightening and tighten outer fastening connections;
- do not overload the engine; avoid smoke emission and RPM dropping. Sudden
RPM drops, smoke emission and engine not responding to the fuel feed increase are the
reasons for the overload. Operation at high gear under load will lead to excessive wear of
the engine rubbing parts;
- operation of the tractor on too low gear with light load at high engine RPM will lead to
fuel overconsumption. Correctly selected gear for each particular operation conditions will pro-
vide for fuel economy and will decrease the engine wear;
- avoid prolonged period of operation without load in the engine maximum or mini-
mum RPM mode;
- for correct breaking-in of the clutch coupling rubbing parts, activate the clutch cou-
pling more frequently and smoothly during the running in process.
ATTENTION:
TURE FROM 500 TO 600 °С, THEREFORE THERMAL DAMAGE TO THE PAINT AND
LAQUER COATING OF THE OUTPUT MANIFOLD AFTER A FEW FIRST HOURS OF
THE ENGINE OPERATION IS NOT A SIGN OF THE ENGINE OPERATION PROCESS
MALFUNCTIONS!

3.4.4 Maintenance during the Tractor Running In

After the first hour of the tractor running in check tightening of the nuts for the rear
wheels fastening to the hub, the nuts for the front wheels fastening to the FDA gear casing
flanges. If the wheels with variable disk offset are installed, check tightening of the nuts for
the rear wheels disks fastening to the rims brackets. Then check the wheels fastening
parts tightening every eight hours during the running in process.
During running in perform the daily maintenance operations according to directions
in Section 5 "Maintenance" of this manual.

3.4.5 Maintenance after the Tractor Running In

After the tractor running in is finished, proceed as follows:
- perform the daily maintenance operations;
- inspect and wash the tractor, clean the cab interior;
- visually inspect for air-tightness the pipelines and units of the lubrication, feeding and cool-
ing systems, and SCR system, tighten connections if necessary;
- check operation of all tractor component parts by listening;
- check tightening of threaded connections according to item 3.4.4 "Maintenance
during the tractor running in";
- tighten two locking nuts М27х1.5 (with left and right thread) of the steering linkage
tube by torque from 100 to 140 N·m and tighten two crown-nuts М20х1.5 of the steering
linkage ball knuckles. To tighten the crown-nuts, at first remove cotter pins from them,
tighten each crown-nut by torque from 100 to 140 Nm, and then additionally turn each
crown-nut until closest slit on the nut would align with the opening in the ball knuckle and
put the cotter pin in.
- check the external threaded connections and tighten them as necessary;
- drain condensate from the pneumatic system receivers;
- drain sediments from the fuel tank and coarse fuel filter;
- check condition of the accumulator battery, clean terminal connections and ventila-
tion openings;
