hours of operation (MT-2), each 1000 hours of operation (MT-3), each 2000
hours of operation (special maintenance) and maintenance, which does not
concur with MT-1, 2MT-1, MT-2, MT-3 and special MT performance periods
5.4.3.1 General directions
ATTENTION: ONLY DEALERS SHALL PERFORM OPERATIONS OF 2MT-1, MT-2,
MT-3 AND SPECIAL MAINTENANCE, EXCEPT FOR OPERATIONS "CHECKING / AD-
JUSTMENT OF THE FRONT WHEELS TOE-IN" AND "CHECKING / ADJUSTMENT OF
CLEARANCES IN THE STEERING LINK JOINTS"!
2MT-1 operations shall be performed every 250 hours of the tractor operation to-
gether with operations of DMT and MT-1.
MT-2 operations shall be performed every 500 hours of the tractor operation to-
gether with operations of DMT, MT-1 and 2MT-1.
MT-3 operations shall be performed every 1000 hours of the tractor operation to-
gether with operations of DMT, MT-1, 2MT-1 and MT-2.
Special maintenance operations shall be performed every 2000 hours of the tractor
operation together with operations of DMT, MT-1, 2MT-1, MT-2 and MT-3.
5.4.3.2 Operation 33. Checking / adjusting the clearances in the steering link joints
Figure 5.4.19 – Checking the steering wheel clearance
To check the free play and clearances in joints 5 (Figure 5.4.20) of the steering link
2, it is necessary to rotate the steering wheel in both directions with the engine stopped. If
there is the steering wheel angle clearance above 25° as shown in Figure 5.4.19, then re-
move clearances in the steering link joints according to following directions:
- apply the tractor parking brake;
- remove the cotter wire 3 (Figure 5.4.20);
- tighten the threaded plug 4 to remove the clearance in joint connection;
- lock the plug 4 with cotter wire 3.
- rotate the steering wheel in both directions. If the steering wheel clearance is
above 25°, i.e. the joints clearance was not removed by the threaded plugs 4 tightening,
then it is necessary to disassemble the joint 5 and replace worn parts. Assemble the joint 5
(tighten the plug 4 in such way, so the ball stud will rotate when the force from 6 to 12 N·m
is applied) and lock by cotter wire 3.
- when the steering link 2 is installed on the tractor, tighten the crown nuts 1 of ball studs
by torque from 100 to 140 N·m and install cotter wire. Meanwhile, the nut should not be un-
screwed when the nut slit and the ball stud opening are aligned.
