2.17 Rear Power Take-off Shaft Control

2.17.1 The handle for the rear PTO shaft switching from independent to syn-
chronous drive
When the handle 3 (Figure 2.1.2)is moved into the lowermost position, the synchro-
nous drive is activated; into uppermost – independent; middle position – neutral.
ATTENTION: ACTIVATE THE REAR PTO SHAFT SYNCHRONOUS DRIVE ONLY
FROM THE NEUTRAL POSITION WHEN THE ENGINE RUNS AT LOWEST GEARS OF
THE GB I OR II RANGES AND WHILE THE TRACTOR MOVES. OTHERWISE, THE
POWER TRANSMISSION CAN BE DAMAGED! CHANGE THE PTO SHAFT SYNCHRO-
NOUS DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL POSITION IN THE SAME WAY!
ATTENTION: CHANGE THE PTO SHAFT INDEPENDENT DRIVE FROM THE
NEUTRAL POSITION ONLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF! CHANGE THE PTO SHAFT
INDEPENDENT DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL POSITION IN THE SAME WAY!

2.17.2 Activation of the Rear Power Take-off Shaft

Activation of the rear PTO shaft is possible, only if the handle 3 (Figure 2.1.2) is in
the position "rear PTO shaft synchronous drive is ON" or in the position "rear PTO shaft
independent drive is ON". The rear PTO shaft does not work in the neutral position.
The rear PTO shaft activation lever 1 (Figure 2.17.1) has two positions:
- the rear PTO shaft activates, when the lever 1 is moved from the extreme front
position into the extreme rear position;
- the rear PTO shaft deactivates, when the lever 1 is moved from the extreme rear
position into the extreme front position.
It is recommended to activate and deactivate the rear PTO shaft while the engine is
running.
Note – The rear PTO shaft activation handle is shown in Figure 2.17.1 in position
"rear PTO shaft is OFF".
