2.4 Cab Heater-fan Operation

The cab heater-fan controls are shown in Figure 2.4.1.
1 – deflectors, 2 – control handle of the cab heater valve; 3 – hose ; 4 – hose clamp; 5 –
fitting ; 6 – cab fan switch; 7 – recirculation flaps.
The cab heater-fan can operate in two modes - heating and ventilation.
Following conditions shall be fulfilled in order to operate the heater-fan in the heat-
ing mode:
- start the engine and let it run at intermediate rotation speed in order to warm the
cooling fluid up to the temperature from plus 70°С to plus 80°С, then open the heater
valve. For this purpose it is necessary to rotate the valve handle 2 (Figure 2.4.1) counter-
clockwise up to the stop;
- check and if necessary pour the cooling fluid into the expansion tank up to upper
edge of the expansion tank fastening clamp;
- use the switch 6 to turn the heater fan on, at that warm air shall be fed into the cab
within one-five minutes, and this will confirm correct operation of the heating system;
- adjust the airflow in required direction using the deflectors 1;
- by opening the recirculation flaps 7, it is possible to regulate quantity of fresh air,
which is fed into the cab.
To drain the cooling fluid out of the heating system, proceed as follows:
- open the heater valve;
- disconnect hoses 3 with fittings 5 from the tank for the SCR system fluid and prior
to that unlatch the fitting 5 fastener to the side;
- drain CF into suitable vessel;
- purge the system with compressed air;
- connect hoses 3 with fittings 5 to the tank for the SCR system fluid and fasten the
fittings 5 fasteners;
