The reason for the steering wheel increased clearance can also be the loosened
crown nuts of the HPS hydraulic cylinder cone pivots.

5.4.3.3 Operation 34. Checking / adjusting the toe-in of the front wheels
The front wheels toe-in adjustment is performed to prevent the front tyres premature
failure.
ATTENTION: CHECK AND ADJUST THE FRONT WHEELS TOE-IN EVERY 250
HOURS OF THE TRACTOR OPERATION AND AFTER CHANGING THE FRONT
WHEELS SPACING. PRIOR TO THE FRONT WHEELS TOE-IN CHECKING, IT IS MAN-
DATORY TO CHECK AND IF NECESSARY TO ADJUST CLEARANCES IN THE STEER-
ING LINK JOINTS!
To adjust, proceed as follows:
1. Set required pressure in tyres according to subsection3.2.8"Selecting the optimal
inner pressure in tyres depending on operation conditions and load on the tractor axis" of
section3 "Proper usage of the tractor".
2. Place the tractor front wheels into position, which corresponds to movement
along straight line. For this purpose drive the tractor on the horizontal site with hard pave-
ment forward by at least three meters and stop. To prevent the tractor movement, apply
the parking brake.
3. Measure the distance B (Figure 5.4.21) between rims edges at the level of
wheels centres form the front side and apply visible marks in measured spots.
4. Disengage the parking brake, move the tractor forward, so the front wheels would
rotate by the half of revolution and measure the distance A between the rims edges at the
level of wheels centres form the rear side at previously marked spots.
5. If the value (A - B) is within range from 0 to 8 mm, then the toe-in is adjusted cor-
rectly. If the value (A - B) is less than 0 or above 8 mm, proceed as follows:
a) do not change the tractor position and unscrew the lock nuts 1 and 3;
b) rotate the pipe 2 of steering link so the value (A - B) would become within range
from 0 to 8 mm;
