2.7 Indicator Light Unit

2.7.1 General

The indicator light unit 14 (Figure 2.1.1) consists of the four indicator lights. The in-
dicator lamps' layout diagram is shown in Figure 2.7.1.
1 – indicator light (orange) of the air cleaner filter clogging; 2 – indicator light (red) of
the emergency oil pressure drop in the HPS system; 3 – indicator light (orange) of the
glow-plugs operation; 4 – indicator light (orange) of the brake fluid.
Principle of the ILU indicator lights operation:
- the indicator light of the air cleaner filter clogging 1 (Figure 2.7.1) illuminates when
the filter clogging maximum allowed level is exceeded and it should be cleaned or re-
placed;
- the indicator light of the emergency oil pressure drop in the HPS hydraulic system
lights up when the oil pressure in the HPS hydraulic system is below 0.08 MPa (it is al-
lowed for the light 2 to light up from time to time at the engine minimum rotation speed –
the light 2 shall go off if the engine rotation speed increases).
- the indicator light of the glow-plugs operation 3 displays operation of the glow-
plugs (the operation algorithm of the GP indicator light is described below in the text);
- the indicator light of the brake fluid 4 lights up when the brake fluid in the tanks of
the main brake cylinders is below allowable level.

2.7.2 Principle of the Glow-Plugs Indicator Light Operation

The glow plugs (GP), which are installed in the cylinder head, are used as the start-
ing aid on the BELARUS-921.6 tractor. The glow-plugs controller might be installed for in-
dividual control of the glow-plugs operation modes and their operation indicating.
Principle of GP operation under control of the glow-plugs controller:
