7. Tractor Storage

7.1 General

ATTENTION: THIS SECTION CONTAINS INFORMATION ABOUT RULES OF
THE BELARUS-921.6 TRACTOR SYSTEMS AND CHASSIS UNITS STORAGE. SEE
THE ENGINE OPERATION MANUAL FOR RULES OF THE ENGINE STORAGE,
PRESERVATION, REPRESERVATION AND DEPRESERVATION!
The tractors shall be stored according to the requirements of GOST 7751-2009 in
enclosed areas or under shelters.
If sheltered premises are not available, then it is allowed to store the tractors on
open outfitted sites with mandatory performance of works for preservation, sealing and
removing the component parts, which shall be stored in warehouses.
Place the tractors for storage between shifts, if usage interval is up to 10 days.
Short-term storage if duration of non-operation period is from 10 days to two months.
Long-term storage if non-operation period is over two months. Place the tractor into stor-

term storage no later than 10 days after works are finished.

7.2 Requirements for Machines Storage between Shifts

It is allowed to store tractors on sites and in areas for storage between shifts or im-
mediately at the work site. The tractor shall be cleaned from dust and dirt. Place the control
pedals and levers into position, where the tractor units and assemblies will be not activated
spontaneously. The accumulator batteries shall be disconnected.

7.3 Requirements for Machines Short-Term Storage

Place the tractor for storage as it is without removing the assemblies and compo-
nent parts from the tractor. Perform directions from subsection 7.2 "Requirements for the
machines storage between shifts". Place the tractor onto props (backing bars).
Component parts (generator, relay etc.), which shall be protected from water, should
be covered by jackets made of paraffin-waxed paper or polyethylene film. After cleaning and
washing, it is necessary to blow off the tractor by compressed air in order to remove mois-
ture.
The fuel tank filling neck, openings in the engine breathers, transmission, hydraulic
systems, the engine exhaust pipe, the air cleaner intake pipe and other cavities, through
which atmospheric precipitations can get into the tractor assemblies and component pars in-
ner cavities shall be tightly closed by covers, polyethylene film bags or other special-purpose
appliances.
Opened joints, screwed and threaded connections of the mounted mechanism, steer-
ing control, splined surfaces of the PTO shaft shanks and cardan shafts, extending parts of
the cylinder and shock-absorbers, mechanisms for the front and rear wheels spacing adjust-
ment shall be preserved.
Storage batteries should be disconnected. Regularly perform the maintenance of
the storage batteries.
To maintain AB, proceed as follows:
- lift the tractor bonnet;
- clean batteries from dust and dirt;
- check condition of the terminals 2 (Figure 7.3.1) of output pins, which are located
under protective covers A (Figure 7.3.1), and ventilation openings in plugs 1. If necessary,
lubricate the terminals by petroleum jelly and clean ventilation openings;
