2.9 Data Display Monitor and the Engine Control Panel

2.9.1 General

The data display monitor 4 (Figure 2.9.2) is intended for displaying the actual pa-
rameters of the engine operation, indication of the engine electronic control system
(EECS) malfunctions and for the SCR parameters displaying.
When the starter and instruments switch key is placed into position I (Figure 2.2.4),
the power supply voltage is fed to the engine electronic control system. When power sup-
ply voltage feeding is activated, the EECS will constantly perform self-diagnostics. If there
are no EECS operation malfunctions, the data display monitor will operate in the working
mode - will display actual changed parameters of the engine operation.
If malfunctions are discovered, the data display monitor will sound the audible alarm
and show short description of discovered malfunctions on the monitor (malfunction code des-
ignation and its description). The malfunction diagnosis indicator will light up or blink on the
engine control system panel 2 (Figure 2.9.2). The malfunction codes explanation and recom-
mended actions to remedy discovered malfunctions are described in the engine operation
manual.

THE DEALER TO REMEDY DISCOVERED MALFUNCTIONS!

2.9.2 Adjustment of the Data Display Monitor Brightness and Contrast

Enter the monitor brightness and contrast adjustment mode 7 (Figure 2.9.1) by
pressing the button 5. Buttons will be displayed in the lower part of the monitor. Press the
button 1 to decrease brightness, press the button 2 to increase brightness, press the but-
ton 3 to decrease contrast, press the button 4 to increase contrast, simultaneously press
the buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 to set an average value for contrast and maximum brightness. Press
the button 5 again to leave the brightness and contrast adjustment mode.
2.9.3 Recalling the Changeable Presentations and Parameters to the Data
Display Monitor
1 – button to recall the main (three sections) presentation and for switching between
displayed parameters; 2 – button to recall the four sections representation and for switch-
ing between displayed parameters; 3 – button to enter the SCR parameters menu, graph-
ical presentation recall and switching between displayed parameters; 4 – button to recall
the malfunctions list (failures); 5 – button for exiting/entering to the mode of brightness,
contrast adjustment and configuration menu mode; 6 – changeable presentation of the
buttons functions; 7 – display.
