3.3.2 Fire Safety Measures

The tractor shall be provided with fire-fighting equipment: shovel and powder fire ex-
tinguisher (to be provided by the customer).
IT IS PROHIBITED TO OPERATE THE TRACTOR WITHOUT FIRE-FIGHTING
EQIUPMENT.
Fill the tractor with fuel and lubricants by mechanised method with the engine
stopped. Use illumination at night-time. It is not recommended to fill the fuel tanks with
buckets.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO FILL THE TRACTOR WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO SMOKE WHILE FILLING THE TRACTOR WITH FUEL.
Do not fill the fuel tanks to its full capacity. Leave at least 3% of the fuel tank volume
unfilled to provide for the fuel expansion.
Do not add benzene or mixtures to the diesel fuel. These mixtures can increase
danger or inflammation or explosion.
Furrow the strip of ground of 3 m wide around the tractor parking places, fuel and
lubricants storage sites and provide these sites with fire-fighting equipment.
During welding works, perform following actions:
- deactivate the AB switch;
- clean parts and component units from vegetation remains;
- disconnect wires from the AB terminals. Insulate tips of disconnected wires in or-
der to prevent accidental touching the AB terminals;
- disconnect the harness connector from the engine electronic control unit;
- if it is necessary to perform welding works on the tractor near some electric
equipment unit, dismount this electric equipment unit for duration of the welding works;
- ground the welding apparatus as close as possible to the welding area;
- observe polarity while connecting the wires to the AB terminals after welding
works.
Prevent the manifold and silencer from fouling by fuel, straws etc.
Prevent straws wrapping onto the tractor rotating parts and machines hitched to the
tractor.
While washing the parts and component units in kerosene, benzene or diesel fuel,
take measures to prevent inflammation of the washing fluid vapours.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO USE THE TRACTOR IN FIRE HAZARDOUS AREAS WITH
REMOVED SIDE PLATES AND PROTECTIVE DEVICES.
Do not allow usage of open flames to heat oil in the engine case, during tanks filling,
or to burn out dirt in the radiator core and other tractor units.
In case of smoke or fire immediately stop the tractor, stop the engine and deactivate
the AB switch. Use the powder fire extinguisher to extinguish fire or cover up fire with
sand, cover by tarpaulin, bagging or other thick cloth. Do not pour water on burning fuel or
oil.
Make sure that there are no inflammable materials near output manifold and silenc-
er during the engine operation.
