3.2.3 Starting the Tractor Movement, Switching the GB

ATTENTION: YOUR TRACTOR IS EQUIPPED WITH THE ENGINE WITH TUR-
BOCHARGE. HIGH RPM OF THE TURBOSHARGER REQUIRE RELIABLE LUBRICA-
TION DURING THE ENGINE STARTING.WARM THE ENGINE UP UNTIL RELIABLE
OPERATION AT THE CRANKSHAFT SPEED 1000-1300 RPM (FOR 2 - 3 MINUTES) IS
ACHIEVED, THEN LET IT RUN AT INCREASED RPM WHILE GRADUALLY INCREAS-
ING THE RPM UP TO 1600 RPM (NO MORE THAN) UNTIL THE COOLING FLUID
TEMPERATURE REACHES 40º С!
IT IS PROHIBITED TO OPERATE THE TRACTOR, IF THE ENGINE OIL EMER-
GENCY PRESSURE LIGHT IS ON WHEN THE ENGINE RUNS. IMMEDIATELLY STOP
THE ENGINE.
ATTENTION: PRESS THE CLUTCH PEDAL QUICKLY AND AS FAR AT IT WILL
GO, RELEASE IT SMOOTHLY AND GRADUALLY. THIS HELPS TO CHANGE GEAR
ACCURATELY AND TO START THE TRACTOR SMOOTHLY FROM STOPPED POSI-
TION. SLOW AND INCOMPLETE PRESSING OF THE PEDAL WILL LEAD TO THE
CLUTCH SLIPPING AND CAUSES DIFFICULTIES AND KNOCKS WHILE CHANGING
GEARS IN THE GEAR BOX. WHEN THE PEDAL IS QUICKLY RELEASED, IT WILL
CHARPLY INCREASE LOAD ON THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TRACTOR WILL
START MOVING WITH JERKS. WHLE RELEASING THE PEDAL AT ITS END OF
TRAVEL RANGE IT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE FOOT FROM THE PEDAL IN ORDER
TO RECOVER CLEARANCES IN THE CLUTCH CONTROL HYDRAULIC DRIVE!
ATTENTION: DO NOT KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL WHILE OP-
ERATING THE TRACTOR, SINCE IT WILL LEAD TO CLUTCH SLIPPING, OVERHEAT-
ING AND MALFUNCTION!
Prior to the movement start, determine required speed of the tractor movement. The
BELARUS-921.6 tractor speeds diagram is shown in the instruction plate on the right
windshield of the cab and in subsection2.15 "Gears changing".
To start the tractor movement, proceed as follows:
- decrease the engine RPM;
- press the clutch pedal;
- select required GB range by the ranges and gears switching lever according to the
ranges changing diagrams in subsection2.15 "Gears changing". Then select required gear, for
which purpose move the ranges and gears switching lever into one of positions according to
the ranges changing diagram in subsection 2.15 "Gears changing";
- if necessary, change the GB reducer to required stage (in case of the tractors with
reverse gear, if necessary change the reverse gear to the tractor required movement di-
rection);
- release the parking brake, smoothly release the clutch pedal and simultaneously
increase the fuel feeding rate - the tractor will start moving.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO MOVE WITH HIGH TOWED LOAD.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO DRIVE THE TRACTOR WITH OPENED DOOR.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO USE THE REVERSE MOVEMENT GEAR "R" IN TOWING
MODE.
ATTENTION: WHILE STARTING MOVEMENT FROM STANDSTILL, MAKE SURE
THAT THE PARKING BRAKE IS RELEASED!
