3.3 Safety Measures during the Tractor Operation
3.3.1 General Safety Measures during the Tractor Operation
Do not operate the tractor in confined areas without required ventilation. Exhaust
gases can lead to death.
The tractor starting and operation with opened side panels is prohibited.
It is prohibited to open side panels while the engine is running.
Do not start the engine while being away from the operator's workplace. While start-
ing the engine and controls manipulating always seat on the operator's seat in the cab.
It is prohibited to start the engine by towing.
Prior to the engine starting apply the parking brake, the rear power take-off shaft
shall be deactivated, the GB ranges and gears switching lever shall be in position "Neu-
tral".
While starting, there shall be no people under the tractor, in front and behind it, as
well as between the tractor and machine connected to it.
Prior to starting moving alarm persons around and working on the hitched machines
using the horn, make sure that the parking brake is disengaged and smoothly start mov-
ing.
While moving on the public-access road, use seat belts (optional).
Presence of passenger in the cab while the tractor operation is strictly prohibited
(the passenger presence is allowed only if additional seat is installed and only when op-
erator performs transportation works).
Do not exit from the moving tractor.
While performing transportation works observe the road traffic rules, which are in
force in the country where the tractor operates.
Move the tractor over slippery roads with DL deactivated at speed no higher than 10
km/h.
While using the tractor for transportation works perform following:- set the front
wheels spacing (1270±20 for tyres 265/70R16 or 1400±20 for tyres 12,4L16) and rear
wheels spacing (1270±20 for tyres 420/70R24 or 1440±20 for tyres 14.9R30) mm;
- check the brakes operation; interlock brakes pedals, check and is necessary ad-
just brakes simultaneous activation;
- check the parking brake operation;
- check condition of the visual and audible alarming devices;
- hitched machines shall be equipped with rigid tow-bars and additionally be con-
nected by the safety chain or rope;
- never move downhill with deactivated gear. Move with the same gear uphill and
downhill;
It is prohibited to work with the trailer without autonomous brakes, if its weight is
over the half of the tractor's actual weight. The faster you move and the higher the towed
weight is, the higher shall be safety clearance.
It is prohibited to transport people in trailers.
Prior to working with the trailer, activate the pneumatic compressor, check condition
of the trailer brakes pneumatic actuator, air pressure in the system. Remedy found abnor-
malities. It is mandatory to connect the trailer brakes pneumatic actuator. Connect the
trailer coupling head to the tractor coupling head then the parking brake is applied.
Do not work under lifted agricultural implements. During long-term stoppages, do
not leave mounted implement in lifted position.
