PERATING CONSIDERATIONS
Starting the Instrument
CAUTION: Do not turn the instrument ON if condensation
is visible on the exterior of the instrument.
CAUTION: The instrument should be turned OFF at least
once daily, or remain OFF if not in use. This allows the
instrument to perform automated self-checks needed to
evaluate system integrity when it is turned back ON.
CAUTION: Do NOT press the STOP Button prior to the
STOP Button test.
Turn the instrument ON by flipping the power switch (located
on the back of the instrument) to the ON position.
The touch screen will display software installation information
and then the A
Logo Screen will appear as shown in the
LYX
figure below. All signal lights (green, red and yellow) will be
illuminated at the top of the instrument.

Note: Ensure that the time and date, displayed in the upper
left corner of the screen, are accurate for data recording
purposes. Instructions can be found later in this chapter to
view and change these settings.
While the A
Logo Screen is displayed, the touch screen will

display an animated self-check icon to indicate the performance of
Self-Check Icon
instrument self-checks. When these are complete, the Stop
Test Screen will be displayed.
