Preventive Maintenance
Preventive maintenance will be scheduled once every twelve
months. This preventive maintenance will be performed by a
qualified service representative ± 45 days from the scheduled due
date. This date is usually established from the date the
instrument is shipped from the manufacturer. A preventive
maintenance check may be provided concurrently with other
service.
Ask your qualified service representative for a copy of the annual
preventive maintenance checklist for the A
Collection System.
WARNING: Only qualified service representatives should
attempt to repair the instrument.
Before cleaning a blood or fluid spill, disconnect the donor and
remove the kit. Ensure that the power is OFF and unplug the
instrument from the electric wall outlet. Cleaning instructions are
provided as follows:
• Cleaning the Cassette Compartment
• Cleaning the Air Detector Area
• Cleaning the Centrifuge Compartment Area
• Cleaning the Anticoagulant Scale
• Cleaning Other External Areas of the Instrument
Note: Wear proper protective clothing to prevent contact with
biohazardous materials and cleaning agents.
Cleaning the Cassette Compartment
Follow the directions under "Cleaning the Pump Block Gasket"
provided in the section above to clean the pump block gasket.
Use the same steps to clean the bladder on the inside of the
cassette compartment door.
CAUTION: Do not use solvents, abrasive cleaners, or a
greater than 10 percent bleach solution to clean any part of the
instrument. Use only recommended cleaning solutions.
