OMPONENT
Separation Chamber
The opaque, plastic part of the disposable kit found at the
end of the umbilicus. The separation chamber is installed
into the centrifuge compartment and is where
anticoagulated whole blood is separated into its
components.
Signal Light
Found at the top of the instrument, the signal light
provides prompts to the operator during certain
situations. The signal light may be green, red, or yellow,
depending on the situation.
Sodium Chloride Solution
Saline. A saltwater solution returned to the donor to help
replace collected blood products.
Split Plasma Product
The programmed plasma volume collected during an
RBC/Plasma procedure that may be split equally into two
attached satellite containers for storage.
Status Zone
The upper left corner of the operating display touch
screen, which shows the operator identification number,
the time, and the information button.
STOP Button
The red button found to the right of the touch screen.
Pressing this button will immediately halt the procedure
and isolate the donor from the instrument.
SUR
Single Unit Recovery.
Syncopal
Pertaining to a temporary loss of consciousness (fainting).
Tabs
A graphic displayed on the touch screen that is touched
to provide additional areas for entering or viewing data.
Task Zone
The upper right corner of the touch screen that features
functioning activities of the instrument or prompts to
guide the operator through set-up and use of the
instrument.
