WARNING: Complete instructions for use should be
followed for every collection procedure. The A
Component Collection System should be operated only by
a qualified individual who has been trained in the use of
the instrument.
CAUTION: Do not operate the instrument outside of its
specified operating range. If the instrument has been stored
beyond its specified operating range, allow it to remain running
with the stop test screen displayed for at least one hour to
stabilize to room conditions before use.
CAUTION: An input voltage greater than 264 VAC RMS
could damage the instrument.
Note: When lifting or moving the instrument, please utilize
proper lifting techniques.
Follow these steps to prepare the instrument for use:
1.
Place the instrument on a stable, level work area that will
be close to the donor bed. If the instrument will be used
in conjunction with a mobile cart or workstation, follow
the instructions to correctly place the instrument.
Note: The instrument should be placed so the cassette will be
higher than the donor's arm to assist in fluid flow.
2.
Inspect the instrument for visible signs of damage,
including the pump block gasket and the leukoreduction
filter fixture. Do not use a damaged instrument. Contact a
service representative if there are physical signs of damage
to the instrument.
3.
Align the instrument to allow the red cell storage
container(s) to hang freely.
