PERATING CONSIDERATIONS
The minimum and maximum flow marks that are displayed
above the flow regions of the Donor Indicator indicate the
amount of fluctuation that has occurred in the last 30 seconds.
When the flow marks are close together, it indicates the donor
flow is stable and the current draw rate has been maintained.
The more unstable the flow, the further apart the flow marks
will be. This may be due to the donor not squeezing or a non-
optimal programmed draw rate.
Return Phase
The instrument will alert the operator before the first return
cycle begins to ensure the donor is monitored when fluids are
returned. There will be a brief audible alert and the signal light
flashes green before the return phase begins. The return rate is

phase and is dependent upon the amount of anticoagulated
whole blood in the in-process container, the amount of fluid
that must be returned to the donor, the donor parameters
entered into the procedure by the operator, and Intelligent
Flow Control. The operator may also adjust the return rate at
any time.
If flow rate issues occurred during the draw cycle and
Intelligent Flow Control adjusted the draw rate, the return rate
will also be adjusted. The minimum adjusted return rate is
70 mL per minute.
