Routine Maintenance - Daily
Power Cycling the Instrument. The instrument needs to be
turned OFF at least once every 24 hours, or remain OFF if not
in use. This allows the instrument to perform automated
self-checks needed to evaluate system integrity when it is turned
back ON. Each time the instrument is turned ON, it will be
necessary to perform the scale checks described in Chapter 3.
Performing Scale Checks. Scale checks are to be performed
each time the instrument is turned ON. Instructions for
performing scale checks are provided in Chapter 3.
Wiping the Centrifuge Compartment. The centrifuge
compartment should be wiped at least once daily with a lint-free
cloth lightly dampened with tap or distilled water. It may be
preferable to wipe the centrifuge compartment at the end of the
day, after the instrument has been turned OFF. Any particulate
matter that may have formed in the centrifuge compartment
should be removed. Also wipe inside the tubing guides to
remove any particulate matter that may have accumulated.
Routine Maintenance - Monthly
Inspecting/Cleaning Fan Filters. The fan filters clean the air
entering the instrument. The fan filters are located on the back
and the bottom of the instrument. A clean filter is important for
proper instrument function. Remove and inspect both fan filters
monthly and clean them if necessary.
When inspecting and/or cleaning the fan filter on the bottom of
the instrument, ensure the instrument is turned OFF and is
latched in the closed position. Gently place the instrument on its
side to access the fan filter. If the instrument is installed on a
Fenwal-approved cart, refer to the cart's directions for use to
access the fan filter.
