ROUBLESHOOTING
If primary power to the instrument is lost and the battery charge
level is less than 20%, a non-recoverable alarm will occur. The
procedure should be ended immediately and the donor
disconnected from the instrument.
If primary power is lost during the procedure and the battery is
charged to at least 20%, the instrument will display an alarm to
notify the operator and then proceed into a standby mode. If the
operator chooses to end the procedure (with or without fluid
return), the STOP button should be pushed. (For more

information about the STOP button, refer to Chapter 3.)
If the operator decides to wait for the primary power to be
restored, the check button on the alarm screen should be touched
to acknowledge the alarm. Once the check button has been
touched, the pause screen will be displayed with the system on
battery icon. The operator may choose to infuse saline to maintain
venous access while in standby mode. The pause screen is fully
functional in the standby mode. (For more information about

If primary power does not return, it will be necessary to push the

STOP button and discontinue the procedure (with or without
fluid return). If primary power to the instrument is restored, no
alarm will occur. The operator may then exit the pause screen
and resume the procedure.
CAUTION: The instrument should be plugged in and powered-
up at least once every six months for 24 hours to maintain battery
charge should the instrument be stored for extended periods of
time. Not doing so will cause the battery to become functionally
inoperative and no longer able to hold an electrical charge, which
will necessitate battery replacement.
