Splitting the Plasma Product
For a split plasma product, once the operator touches the check
button on the hang product prompt, the hang split product prompt will be
displayed.
Typical Hang Split Product Prompt Screen
1. Leave the plasma container hanging on the scale, remove the
two satellite containers, and place them on the centrifuge
cover below the plasma container.
2. Open the clamp leading to the satellite containers and allow
the plasma to flow into each container.
Note: If desired, air from the satellite plasma containers may be
expressed into the jumbo plasma container at this time. Follow
the instructions in step 4 to remove the air.

When completely empty, close each clamp on the satellite
containers.

Hold one satellite container, port side up, open its clamp and
squeeze the container to remove the air up into the empty
jumbo container. Squeeze the container until plasma reaches
the "Y" and close the clamp. Repeat with the second
satellite container. Close the clamp on the empty container
when finished.
5.
Seal the tubing between the "Y" and the jumbo plasma
container, leaving the satellite containers connected.
Separate the satellite plasma product bags from the empty
plasma container. Remove the empty jumbo plasma
container from the plasma scale and discard.
