Cleaning the Air Detector Area
The air detectors are located directly beneath the pump block
gasket.
1.
Lightly spray a disinfectant soap solution carefully onto
cotton swabs/tips.
2.
Gently insert the cotton swabs/tips into the air detectors to
clean out any fluids.
3.
Gently insert dry cotton swabs/tips to remove any excess
moisture.
4.
Allow the air detectors to completely air dry before use.
WARNING: The air detector housing and tubing channel
must be dry for proper function.
CAUTION: Do not use bleach to clean or disinfect the air
detectors. Using bleach on these parts may cause damage.
Cleaning the Centrifuge Compartment
The brown strip on the bottom of the centrifuge compartment
acts as a leak detector. When fluid is detected, the centrifuge
stops and all other parts of the instrument are put into a
safe-state mode. The compartment must be cleaned and dried
thoroughly to begin a new procedure.
To clean the centrifuge compartment:
1.
Use a cloth soaked in a solution of 10 percent bleach to
completely wipe the centrifuge compartment and metal
hardware surfaces clean. Do not allow the bleach solution to
come into contact with the optical sensors.
2.
Use a cloth soaked in distilled or tap water to wipe down the
centrifuge compartment and metal hardware surfaces.
3.
Dry all areas of the centrifuge compartment and hardware
with a lint-free cloth.
4.
Clean the centrifuge door with a disinfectant soap solution
soaked on a lens cloth or optical surface cleaning cloth. Use
gentle, circular motions to clean the centrifuge door until it is
clean and allow it to air dry.
