Take the T1600 router offline:

user@host> request chassis lcc slot 0 offline
To remove the control plane connections between the TXP-CIPs and the LCC-CBs:
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
Disconnect the Ethernet cable plugged into the LCC control plane port labeled
2.

Disconnect the other end of the Ethernet cable plugged into the port labeled
3.

LCC-CB-0

Disconnect the Ethernet cable plugged into the LCC control plane port labeled
4.

TXP-CIP-1

Disconnect the other end of the Ethernet cable plugged into the port labeled
5.
on

LCC-CB-1
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the LCC-CBs from the T1600 routers.
To remove the switching planes
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
Remove the fiber-optic array cables from each TXP-T1600 SIB.
2.
Remove the dust covers from the dust-free resealable plastic bag and reinstall them
3.
on the fiber-optic array cable connectors. Align the dust cover with the cable connector
and carefully press them together until they stop. The cover and the cable connector
are keyed to ensure proper mating.
Arrange the fiber-optic array cables so that they are not touching or blocking access
4.
to T1600 router components, and that they do not drape where people could trip on
them.
Replace each TXP-T1600 SIB with a T1600-SIB. Use the standard replacement
5.
procedure described in the T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide.
Do not bring any of the SIBs online.
