Removing the Front Fan Trays

Grasp both ejector handles, pull firmly, and slide the TXP-F13 SIB about three-quarters

CAUTION: Be prepared to support the weight of the TXP-F13 SIB before
you slide it completely out of the chassis.
When the TX-SIB is out of the chassis, do not hold it by its ejector handles
or edge connectors. They cannot support its weight.
Place one hand underneath the TXP-F13 SIB to support it, and slide it completely out

CAUTION: Do not stack hardware components on one another after you
remove them. Place each component on an antistatic mat resting on a
stable, flat surface.
Repeat the procedure for each of the remaining TXP-F13 SIBs.

Two front fan trays are located above and below the TXP-F2S SIBs in the front of the
chassis. Each front fan tray weighs about 9.0 lb (4.0 kg).
To remove the front fan trays (see Figure 55 on page 134):
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to an approved site ESD grounding point.
Loosen the captive screws on the corners of the faceplate.

Grasp the handle and pull the fan tray until it stops (approximately 1.5 in.).
3.
Press the release latch located on the left side of the fan tray.
