Check the force required to turn
the wheel (see page 17-12).
Start the engine and measure the
force required to turn the wheel
to the right and left. Difference of - Abnormal
the force required to turn the
wheel to the right and to the left
should be 2.9 N (0.3 kgf, 0.7 Ibf)
or less .
Normal
Compair the steering to another
alike vehicle.
Check cylinder lines A and B for
deformation (see page 17-23).
Not deformed
Check rack guide adjustment (too
tight).
Adjustment OK
Check for bent rack shaft.
Not bent
Faulty valve body unit
Deformed
