Measure Linear Solenoid Resis-
tance:
1. Connect the linear solenoid
connector.
2. Measure th e resistance
between the 88 and 817 ter-
minals.
Is the resista nce about 5 m

Repair loose terminal or open in
the wires between the B8 and
B17 terminals and the linear
solenoid.

Measure VB SOL Voltage:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF .

2. Disconnect the 0 (16P) con-
nector from the PCM .
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (11).
4. Measure the voltage between
the D5 and 820 or 822 termi-
nals.

Is there battery vo ltage?

YES
Check lG Wire for an Open
Circuit:
1. Turn the ignition s witch OFF.
2. Check for co ntinuity between
the 820 te r minal and body
ground, and between the 822
terminal and body ground.
NO
Is there continuity?
/ '
YES
Check for loose t.rmlnal fit in the
PCM
connectors.
If
necessary.
substitute 8 known-good PCM
and recheck.

box. If the fuse is
OK. repair open
In the wire between the 05 ter-
