Idle Control System
Power Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch Signal (cont'd)
'98 - 00 models:
Inspection of P$P switch signal.
Chaek for an open In the wire (PSP
SW~ne):
1. Turn the ignition switch ON
(II).
2. Measure voltage between ECM/
PCM connecto r term inals A26
and 820.

Is there less than 1.0 V7

YES
Check the operation of the PSP
switch:
1.
Start the engine
2.
Turn steering wh eel to the full
lock position*.
3. Measure voltage between ECM!
PCM connector terminals A26
and 820.

Is there battery voltage?
/ '
YES
psp switch signal is OK.
*:
Do not hold the steering wheel at full
lock for more than five seconds.

Check for an open in the wire (PSP
SWline):
1.
Turn the ignition switch OFF .
2.
Disconnect the
psp
s witch 2P
connector.
NO
3. Turn the ignition switch ON
(II).
4.
At the wire side. connect the
PSP switch 2P connector ter-
minals NO.1 and No. 2 with a
jumper wire .
5. Measure voltage between ECM/
PCM
connector
terminals A26
and 820.
Is there less than 1.0 V?
YES
Replace the PSP switch.
NO
