Check the fuel tank pressure sen-
sor:
1-
Remove
the fuel
fill
cap.
2.
Turn the
ignition switch ON
{II).
3.
Monitor the FTP Sensor
volt-
age
with the Honda PGM
Tester
,
or
measure
voltage
between
ECMIPCM
connecto
r
terminals A29
and
C1B.
Check the vacuum lines for
"-
NO
restriction or blockage repair .s
Is there
approx.
2.5
V?

necessary.

OK.
replace the fuel
YES
tank pressure sensor.
Check the fuel tank pressure sen-
sor:
1.
Turn the
ignition switch OFF.
2_
Disconnect the hose
between
the EVAP two way valve
and
the fuel tank pressure
sensor
at
the
EVAP two
way valve end.
3_
Connect
a
va cuum pump to
the open
end of that
hose.
4.
Turn the
ignition switch
ON
(II)
.
5.
Monitor
the FTP
Sensor volt-
age
with the Honda
PGM
Tester, or
measure voltage
between
ECMIPCM
connector
terminals A29 and C1a,
and
carefully
apply vacuum on
the
hose
one stroke at
a
time.
VACUUM
6.
The
voltage should smoothly
PUMP/GAUGE, 0
-
30
in.
drop from the
starting
approx.
A973X - 41 -
2.5 V
down to
approx.
1.5
V.

Stop applying vacuum when
the voltage drops to
