Manually Enabling FICON

To configure host control, follow these steps:

switch(config)# ficon vsan 2
switch(config-ficon)#

switch(config-ficon)# no host
set-timestamp
switch(config-ficon)# host set-timestamp

Time Stamp Cleanup

You can clear time stamps only from the Cisco MDS switch—not the mainframe.
Note
Use the clear ficon vsan vsan-id timestamp command in EXEC mode to clear the VSAN clock.
switch# clear ficon vsan 20 timestamp

FICON SNMP Control

By default, SNMP users can configure FICON parameters through the Cisco MDS 9000 Family Fabric
Manager.
If you disable SNMP use in the Cisco MDS switch, you cannot configure FICON parameters using the

To configure SNMP control, follow these steps:
