7.4 Fault
Code
Name
dv2
Z Pulse Noise Fault Detection
Note:
• The drive detects this error if it detects more than one Z pulse per rotation for the number of rotations set in F1-17 [Deviation 2 Detection Selection].
• Do a Fault Reset to clear the fault.
Code
Name
dv3
Inversion Detection
Note:
• The drive detects this error if:
–the torque reference and acceleration are in opposite directions.
–the speed reference and actual motor speed are more than 30% different for the number of times set to F1-18 [Deviation 3 Detection Selection].
• Do a Fault Reset to clear the fault.
Code
Name
dv4
Inversion Prevention Detection
366
Causes
Noise interference along the encoder cable.
The encoder cable is disconnected or wired
incorrectly.
The drive is operating a motor with 24 or more poles
at zero speed.
The PG option or the encoder on the motor side is
damaged.
Causes
E5-11 [Encoder Z-Pulse Offset] is set incorrectly.
There is a new encoder or the motor rotation direction
changed.
An external force on the load side rotated the motor.
Noise interference along the encoder cable.
The encoder cable is disconnected or wired
incorrectly.
The setting for F1-05 [Encoder 1 Rotation Selection]
is the opposite of the direction of motor rotation.
The drive incorrectly detected the motor magnetic
pole position.
n8-84 [Polarity Detection Current] is too low.
Pole Position Detection failed.
The PG option or the encoder on the motor side is
damaged.
The drive incorrectly detected the motor magnetic
pole position.
Causes
An external force on the load side rotated the motor.
E5-11 [Encoder Z-Pulse Offset] is set incorrectly.
There is a new encoder or the motor rotation direction
changed.
Noise interference along the encoder cable.
The encoder cable is disconnected or wired
incorrectly.
The drive incorrectly detected the motor magnetic
pole position.
Possible Solutions
Isolate the encoder cable from the drive output line or a different
source of electrical interference.
Examine for wiring errors or disconnected wires in the encoder
cable, and repair problems. Correctly ground the shielded wire of
the encoder cable.
• Set F1-46 = 1 [dv2 Detection Method Selection =
MechanicalAngle Detection Method].
• Increase F1-17 [Deviation 2 Detection Selection].
• Increase F1-47 [Deviation 2 Detection Level].
Note:
If you change the setting of F1-47, the sensitivity of detection
for dv2 can decrease.
Repair the wiring and re-energize the drive, then replace the PG
option or the encoder if the problem continues.
Possible Solutions
Correctly set the value for Δθ to E5-11 as specified by the values on
the motor nameplate.
Do Z Pulse Offset Tuning.
• Make sure that the motor is rotating in the correct direction.
• Find and repair problems on the load side that cause the motor to
rotate from the load side.
Correctly ground the shielded wire of the encoder cable.
Examine for wiring errors or disconnected wires in the encoder
cable, and repair problems.
Correctly connect the motor wiring for each phase (U, V, W).
When U6-57 [PolePolarityDeterVal] < 819, increase n8-84
[Polarity Detection Current]. Consult the motor manufacturer for
information about maximum setting values.
Increase n8-84 from the default. Consult the motor manufacturer for
information about maximum setting values.
If you are using an IPM motor, do High Frequency Injection Auto-
Tuning.
Repair the wiring and re-energize the drive, then replace the PG
option card or the PG if the problem continues.
When U6-57 [PolePolarityDeterVal] < 819, set n8-84 [Polarity
Detection Current > default setting.
Possible Solutions
• Make sure that the motor is rotating in the correct direction.
• Find and repair problems on the load side that cause the motor to
rotate from the load side.
• Disable detection of this fault for applications that rotate the
motor from the load side in the opposite direction of the speed
reference. The drive will not detect this fault if F1-19 = 0
[Deviation 4 Detection Selection = Disabled].
Correctly set the value for Δθ to E5-11 as specified by the values on
the motor nameplate.
Do Z Pulse Offset Tuning.
Correctly ground the shielded wire of the encoder cable.
Examine for wiring errors or disconnected wires in the encoder
cable, and repair problems.
If the value for U6-57 [PolePolarityDeterVal] is lower than 819,
increase the value set in n8-84 [Polarity Detection Current].
Consult the motor manufacturer for information about maximum
setting values.
