♦ Torque wrench - V.A.G 1331-
Removing
WARNING
The following conditions must be met before starting work on
the electrical system and removing the steering wheel:
♦ Disconnect the battery earth lead ⇒ Electrical system;
Rep. gr. 27 ; Battery: disconnecting and connecting .
♦ Wheels must be in straight-ahead position.
Failure to comply with these precautions may lead to subse‐
quent failure of the airbag system.
– Move steering column to middle height position.
– Remove airbag unit ⇒ General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.
69 ; Airbag (driver side) .
– Turn wheels to straight-ahead position.
Note
The steering must be in the centre position (wheels straight-
ahead) when the steering wheel is removed and installed.
