Setting vehicle to initial position for
wheel alignment
If measured values are outside specified tolerances, this may be
because the vehicle is inclined.
Right-hand drive vehicles or e.g. vehicles with an automatic gear‐
box may lean to one side slightly.
This is due to the installation position of the assemblies and their
associated weight transfer and is normal.
– In such cases it is essential to measure dimension -a- at the
rear on both sides.
– Correct any differences as required.
The front axle may be balanced by attaching balance weights on‐
to the suspension turret on the corresponding side, in the engine
compartment.
On the rear axle, compensate by adding weights to the respective
side of the luggage compartment.
Sand-filled sacks (weighing approx. 10 kg) are suitable for this.
