– Unscrew bolt -1-.
– Remove the control unit in -the direction of arrow- -A- and
-B-.
– Release release lever -1- in -direction of arrow-.
– Unplug the electrical connector -2-.
– Press lugs -3- and -4- to rear.
– Slide electronically controlled damping control unit - J250-
-5- downward out of retainer -6-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order, noting the following:
– Function "Replace control unit" must be performed with ⇒ Ve‐
hicle diagnostic tester if electronically controlled damping con‐
trol unit - J250- has been renewed.
– If the reference position has been re-adapted, the front camera
for driver assist systems must be recalibrated on vehicles with
lane departure warning function

Removing and installing electronically
controlled damping control unit - J250- ,

Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Vehicle diagnosis tester
Removing
Location: electronically controlled damping control unit - J250- is
installed behind left side panel trim in luggage compartment.
– Disconnect earth strap from battery ⇒ Electrical system; Rep.
gr. 27 ; Battery; Disconnecting and reconnecting battery
– Pull out ignition key.
Vehicles with keyless locking and starting system "Keyless Ac‐
cess"
– Switch off ignition and open driver's door so that the steering
lock engages.
Continuation for all vehicles
– Remove luggage compartment side panel trim ⇒ Internal
chassis installation work; Rep. gr. 70 ; luggage compartment
panel trim; uninstalling and installing the luggage compart‐
ment side panel trim .
