4. Setting up the GY-8240
1. Press the [SELECT] button on the front panel of the GY-8240.
2. Press the [)] button several times until the SETUP menu appears, then press the [ENTER] button.
3. Press the [)] button several times until "Unload" appears, then press the [ENTER] button.
4. Press the [(] or [)] button to set to "NORM", then press the [ENTER] button.
5. Press the [)] button several times until "Auto load" appears, then press the [ENTER] button.
6. Press the [(] or [)] button to set to "OFF", then press the [ENTER] button.
7. Press the [ESC] button several times until the Top menu appears
8. Turn OFF the power, then turn it ON again.
5. Installing (Not necessary if it has already been installed)
1. Insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.
2. Copy the Scsichk.exe file and test script contained in the floppy disk onto the appropriate directory in
the C drive.
3. Make a shortcut if the Scsichk.exe file is copied to somewhere other than the desktop.
6. Starting
Double-click the Scsichk icon to start the Scsichk.
7. Preparation for the test
1. Click "DEVICE" on the menu bar.
2. Click "SCAN SCSI" on the DEVICE menu to display the SCSI device connecting the
GY-8240 (Confirm that the GY-8240 is displayed on the specified ID).
3. Click "SELECT DEVICE" on the DEVICE menu.
4. Select the GY-8240 to be tested in the Tape Device (GY), then click the OK button.
5. Insert the DTF-2 cassette into the GY-8240.
6. When "Unloaded" or "Format?" appears on the LCD of the GY-8240, click "GY_CMD" on the
menu bar to display the GY command menu.
7. Click "TEST UNIT READY" on the GY command menu.
8. Repeat steps (6) and (7) until the result turns "OK".
8. Selecting the script and executing the test
1. Click "TEST" on the menu bar.
2. Position the cursor to "SEQUENCE", and click "INPUT FILE".
3. Turn the other Radio button ON.
4. Click the refer button to display the file.
5. Change to the directory where the script for the test has been copied.
6. Click the copied test script, then click the OPEN button.
7. Click the OK button.
8. Click "TEST" on the menu bar.
9. Position the cursor on "SEQUENCE" on the TEST menu, then click "START".
10. The sequential test is executed and the result is displayed.
11. The cassette is automatically ejected after the test is completed.
(It takes for approximately 15 minutes to complete the test.)
9. Verification and termination
1. Confirm there is no "mismatch" error during execution.
2. Click the " " to the upper right of Scsichk to close.
