5-4. DIAG Mode
m. CH07-S, T Reel Motor Check
Function: Checks the functions of the S and T reel motors.
Operation:
(1) Without loading any cassette, enter "CH07"". The capstan operation check mode is entered and
following will be displayed.

H:SRev/J:SFwd/K:TRev/L:TFwd/;:Stop/':':EXIT

Entering H, J, K, L or " ; " key causes the reel to rotate at the speed listed below.
H: S reel reverse x1 speed
J: S reel forward x1 speed
K: T reel reverse x1 speed
L: T reel forward x1 speed
" ; ": Stop
" : ": Exits the reel operation check mode.
(2) Check the following.
1 Check that when the H key is pressed, after the S reel brake is released, the S reel rotates in the
counterclockwise direction at constant speed.
2 Check that when the " ; " key is pressed, the S reel stops and the S reel brake is set.
3 Check that when the J key is pressed, after the reel brake is released, the S reel rotates in the
clockwise direction at constant speed.
4 Check that when the K key is pressed, after the T reel brake is released, the T reel rotates in the
counterclockwise direction at constant speed.
5 Check that when the " ; " key is pressed, the T reel stops and the T reel brake is set.
6 Check that when the L key is entered, after the reel brake is released, the T reel rotates in the clock-
wise direction at constant speed.
