5-14. Electrical Alignment Overview

5-14-2. Initializing the NV-RAM

Perform the following operations if data saved in the NV-RAM (nonvolatile memory) is lost (due to
replacement of IC, board, etc.)
If performing from a PC/workstation, connect the PC/workstation to the OPTION-1 port of the GY-8240.
(Refer to section 5-1-1.)
1. Initializing the servo adjustment data
Execute initialization of the servo flash memory only when the 3x2a error has occurred or when IC816
has been replaced.
Execute the operation in the THRU mode. For details on the THRU mode, refer to "5-11-4. SV CPU".
Operation:
Enter "UTIL1"" in the SV THRU mode.
When "To Init Adjust Data, Yes?" appears, enter "Yes"".
When the operation completes, "Done!" appears.
To exit the THRU mode, enter "q".
The screen during execution is as follows.
Welcome Here's SV1.
SV1_TOP=>UTIL1"
To Init Adjust Data, Yes?:YES"
SaveOK!
Done!
SV1_TOP=>
(enter q to quit SV)"
2. Initializing custom information, service information, and setup information
a. When the maintenance menu starts, enter the command "DEF"".
b. The GY/DIR selection menu will be displayed. After the prompt "DEF=>", enter "1"".
c. After the prompt "Are you sure? (Y:yes/N:no)=>", enter "y"" to execute.
d. After "DEF=>", enter "QUIT"".

The custom information, service information, and setup information cannot be initialized from the front
panel.
