5-13. Troubleshooting
d) Record the log
1. Refer to Section 5-1-1, and connect with the personal computer (PC).

Refer to Section 5-8 for details of the GY-8240 communication baud rate setting display.
2. Refer Section 5-6, and display the log.
Necessary log: Upload command "ADSP".
e) Save the log contents

For details on saving data in the floppy disk or PC (hard disk), follow the procedure for the terminal
emulator software installed in the PC.
f) Remove the cassette.
If the cassette is going to be removed to protect the tape, check the error message (Refer to Section 5-13-
5) and error code on the display (LCD) to determine if the cassette can be removed.
For details on removing the cassette, refer to the section on operations (cassette removal and loading-
emergency ejection) in the operation manual.
1. If the cassette can be removed
Error codes where the cassette can be removed by emergency ejection are error numbers other than
those in the 3000 range.
2. If the cassette cannot be removed
For error codes in the 3000 range, do not remove the cassette as the tape may damage.
Take note that turning off and then on the power may damage the tape. (Refer to Section 5-13-6.)
g) Write down the cassette lot number
Check the error code, and in case to have removed the cassette, write down the lot number at the back of
the cassette.
h) Confirm the countermeasure
Refer to Section 5-13-6, and confirm the countermeasure according to the error message and error code
displayed on the display (LCD) on the front panel.
