5-4. DIAG Mode
n. CH08-Drum Motor Check
Function: Checks the functions of the drum motor.
Operation:
(1) Without loading anycassette, enter "CH08"". The drum operation check mode is entered and the
following will be displayed.

AAXX BBXX CCCC
Entering H, J, K or " ; " key causes the drum to rotate at the speed listed below.
H: Drum rotation speed 105 Hz (DTF 1 mode)
J: Drum rotation speed 52.5 Hz (DTF 2 mode)
K: Drum rotation speed 26.25 Hz (factory use), Not a fault when it does not lock.
" ; ": Stop
" : ": Exits the drum operation check mode
AAXX, BBXX and CCCC indicates the current status of the drum motor.
AAXX: Drum mode
AA = 0: Stop
1: Rotates at 52.5 Hz
2: Rotates at 105 Hz
3: Rotates at 26.25 Hz
BBXX: Drum Lock
BB = 0: Not lock
1: Locks
CCCC: Time until drum locks
(2) Check the following.
1 Check that when the H key is pressed, the drum rotates at 105 Hz, and after 5 seconds, "02XX 01XX
CCCC" is displayed.
2 Check that when the J key is pressed, the drum rotates at 52.5 Hz, and after 5 seconds, "01XX 01XX
CCCC" is displayed.
When the above fails:
. Check mechanical faults of the drum.
. Check the drum motor drive circuit (SV-205 board).
. Check the drum motor.
. Check the drum FG output and drum PG output.
. Check the drum FG amplifier circuit (SV-205 board).
. Check the drum PG amplifier circuit (SV-205 board).
