5-4. DIAG Mode

CH03-Cassette Compartment Motor Check
Function: Checks the operations of the cassette compartment.
Operations:
(1) Without loading anycassette, enter "CH03"". The cassette compartment motor check mode is
entered and the following will be displayed.

[InL*][InR*][LSize-][Exist-][Vert*][UdEnd*]

Entering J, K or " ; " executes the operations of the cassette compartment as listed below.
J:
Cassette Compartment-up-end
K:
Cassette Compartment-down-end
" ; ":
Operations stop
" : ":
Exits the cassette compartment test mode
The following indicates the current status of the respective sensors.
When the sensor is functioning, the display changes from "_" to "*".
[InL-]:
Cassette-in L sensor
[InR-]:
Cassette-in R sensor
[LSize-]:
Cassette Size sensor
[Exist-]:
Cassette Exist
[Vert-]:
Cassette down (2) sensor
[UdEnd-]:
Cassette down (1) sensor
The position of the cassette compartment is indicated by the [Vert-] and [UdEnd-] sensors. The following
are displayed for the respective cassette compartment positions.
UpEnd:
[Vert-] [UdEnd*]
Horizon:
[Vert-] [UdEnd-]
Vertical:
[Vert*] [UdEnd-]
DownEnd:
[Vert*] [UdEnd*]
(2) Check the following.
1 When the J key is pressed, the cassette compartment rises, and the sensor display changes in the order
of "DownEnd" → "Horizon" → "Vertical" → "UpEnd".
2 When the K key is pressed, the cassette compartment descends, and the sensor display changes in the
order of "UpEnd" → "Vertical" → "Horizon" → "DownEnd".

For some cassette compartments, pressing the K key may change the sensor state in the order of
"UpEnd" → "Horizon" → "Vertical" → "DownEnd" → "Horizon", but it is not a malfunction.
