5-4. DIAG Mode
e. R3-Cassette Switch Check
Function: Displays the state of the Cassette Tab sensor and REC Inhibit sensor (switch).
Refer to the next page on the position of each sensor.
Operation:
(1) Without loading any cassette, enter "R3"". The following will be displayed.

[RecEnS-][RecEnL-][Gy/Dir-][Metal-][Dtf2/1-][Id5-][Id6-][Id4-]

The following indicates the current status of the respective sensors.
When the sensor is functioning, the display changes from "_" to "*".
[RecEnS-]: S Cassette REC Inhibit sensor
[RecEnL-]: L Cassette REC Inhibit sensor
[Gy/Dir-]: Cassette ID-1 sensor
[Metal-]: Cassette ID-2 sensor
[Dtf2/1-]: Cassette ID-3 sensor
[Id5-]: Cassette ID-5 sensor
[Id6-]: Cassette ID-6 sensor
[Id4-]: Cassette ID-4 sensor
(2) Check the following.
1 When the S Cassette REC inhibit sensor is pressed, the display changes from "[RecEnS-]" to "[Re-
cEnS*]".
2 When the L cassette REC inhibit sensor is pressed, the display changes from "[RecEnL-]" to "[Re-
cEnL*]".
3 When the cassette ID-3 sensor is pressed, the display changes from "[Gy/Dir-]" to "[Gy/Dir*]".
4 When the cassette ID-1 sensor is pressed, the display changes from "[Metal-]" to "[Metal*]".
5 When the cassette ID-2 sensor is pressed, the display changes from "[Dtf2/1-]" to "[Dtf2/1*]".
6 When the cassette ID-4 sensor is pressed, the display changes from "[Id4-]" to "[Id4*]".
7 When the cassette ID-5 sensor is pressed, the display changes from "[Id5-]" to "[Id5*]".
8 When the cassette ID-6 sensor is pressed, the display changes from "[Id6-]" to "[Id6*]".
If the above fails:
When the cassette tab sensors (1 to 6) fail
. Check the corresponding sensor on the PTC-59 board.
. Check the sensor input port of the CPU on the SV-205 board.
When the REC Inhibit sensors S and L fail
. Check the corresponding sensor on the SV-205 board.
